Delete your Bergkonn app account and data
The Bergkonn app is used by employees of Bergkonn Electronics GmbH to record working time and handle jobs. This page explains how to have your user account and the data belonging to it deleted. You need neither a login nor the installed app to do so. This page covers both editions: Android on Google Play (de.bergkonn.app.bergkonn) and iPhone on the App Store (de.bergkonn.app).
How to delete your account
Option 1: in the app
- Open the Bergkonn app and sign in.
- Open the “Profil” (profile) area.
- At the bottom, choose “Konto löschen” (delete account) and confirm.
Access is blocked immediately and the user account is removed. No further confirmation is required.
Option 2: by e-mail, without the app
If you no longer have access, an informal e-mail to info@bergkonn.de is enough. Please state your name, your work e-mail address and that you want your Bergkonn app account deleted. We confirm receipt and delete within 30 days.
What is deleted
- the user account and its sign-in data
- profile details: name, work e-mail address, role, holiday entitlement and any profile picture you added voluntarily
- the location readings attached to your clock-in and clock-out events
- records of your consent to location capture
- entries still stored on the device and not yet transferred
What is retained, and why
Recorded working hours, absences and payroll records remain in place after the account is deleted. German law requires us to keep them: section 16 (2) of the Working Hours Act (Arbeitszeitgesetz, two years) and section 147 of the Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung) together with section 257 of the Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, six to ten years for payroll and accounting records). These records are deleted once those periods expire. The same applies to the company’s job and project data, which are not personal data of your account.
Time frames
- account and sign-in data: immediately
- all other personal data not subject to a retention duty: within 30 days
- location readings of clock-in and clock-out events: deleted no later than 30 days after they were recorded anyway, even without an account deletion
- data subject to statutory retention: once the periods named above have expired
